Ok, so the first Oceanius Gaming gathering went remarkably well. So well in fact, that we've committed to doing more of them in the future.

In the meantime, we're going to try to set up a weekly game night, where everybody in the Oceanius community can gather and play games together. We're looking into the possibility of setting up a VPN access system specifically for playing those games that don't offer a private server to play on (eg starcraft). Another possibility is to play on the publicly-available battle.net and arrange a channel to meet on or similar. As always, suggestions are welcome.

we could set-up a projector/webcam/speakers/mic(s) too, so that we could all see/hear/trash-talk. A bit overkill, but why not?

We could start at around 4:00 PM EST (which would be around 10:00 PM there according to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?month=8&day=31&year=2008&p1=263&p2=16&p3=-1&p4=-1 ) and then take a break to eat around 6 PM EST. That way we could have a rather long play-time of 2 different games. Anyone else want to bitch about the time? :P

7pm EST would be 2am in the netherlands (GMT+2, 7 hour difference), on a sunday thats a no-no for me.
Best time for me playing would be somewhere between 12am EST and 17am EST (which should correspondend with 19pm till 12pm GMT+2). I am able to become active earlier, but thats probably not in your favour ;).

Preferable games in my category would be either one of the following: Soldat, Teeworlds, any of the Heroes of Might and Magic games, unreal tournament 99/2004, or some form of halflife2 or a free mod to that. Unless someone wants to play Mario Kart on wii ;).

Ok, so I'm hosting a Oceanius LAN/WAN party. I'll have a network setup on my back deck, with food/etc. Anyone local to DC is welcome to attend and play, eat, converse, and be merry. We'll also be playing in such a way that anyone outside DC can play with us over the interwebs. That's about as far as I've gotten tho.

As far as a date, I'm thinking Sunday (August 31) starting around 7pm EST (GMT -5). Game(s) are completely up for debate (I'd like starcraft, but if you want something else speak up). What do you all think?
